Almey’s Lane, High Street, Earl Shilton.

Dreadful footway shared use cycling scheme in Earl Shilton. At best the highway authority is trying to do something, but putting cyclists and pedestrians into conflict is not the answer.

Cycle Lane appears and disappears at a junction.

Shortcut, No Cycling sign, no dropped kerb.

Faded cycle symbol on the road, perhaps suggesting this is a cycle route.

Although these signs carry a negative, their main message to me is that a shortcut exists.
